We believe that the benefits of orthodontic treatment will last a lifetime, and we work hard to eliminate any potential financial barriers to treatment.
The total cost of orthodontics can be intimidating to most parents, so we have created this article on three ways to pay for your child's new braces and appliances.
If one of these payment methods work for you, click on the request an appointment button below to schedule your initial comprehensive consultation.
1. Payment in Full
For those of you who are economically capable of paying the full balance for orthodontic treatment, you have the opportunity to save up to 4-8%! Pre-paying will eliminate billing costs, therefore we provide up to an 8% discount for what we call the accounting services reduction.
The discount is determined by the agreed upon fixed rate, or the total cost of treatment. You can receive an estimate for the total cost of orthodontics after your first visit. Cost is largely influenced by the complexity of your child's teeth and jaw problems.
2. Credit Cards
Our three orthodontic offices in New Hampshire have credit card machines that process all major credit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard.
The credit card market is very competitive, and there are several banks and credit unions offering simplified plans. Credit.com shared a blog post The Simplest Credit Cards in America, to give you an idea how to find a card that is right for you.
3. CareCredit (3rd Party Financing)
We accept CareCredit at our offices. CareCredit involves a third-party financier that is not affiliated with our orthodontics office, but it can help pay for your child's treatment.
CareCredit's website allows you to apply online, it finds providers near you with a promotional plan that fits your needs, and if you are approved you can receive instant Special Financing Options every time you use it. They provide dental care, which includes procedures such as tooth repair, crowns or caps, root canals, dental implants, braces, retainers, bite plates, and headgears.
Their plans offer:
- No interest if paid in full within 6, 12, 18, or 24 months
- Purchases of $2500 or more are eligible for a 60 month offer
- Fixed monthly payments
- Easy application process with no fees with quick & confidential results
This payment method can be made with or without dental insurance. In some cases, dental insurance does not include the entire orthodontic treatment cost. Therefore, you have the option of choosing to finance the remaining balance with a third party like CareCredit.
What happens if you cannot make your monthly payments?
If for some reason you cannot make monthly payments on your credit card or CareCredit, you will be charged a late fee. The price of the late fee will depend on the provider. It's important to keep your account in good standing by paying on time.
What if you lose your job? Sometimes life throws a wrench into your plans, and you may have issues making your monthly payments. Late payments result in an interest charge, which can set you back from reaching your goal.
Most providers will help you lower your monthly payments. CareCredit offers longer payment options with a reduced, fixed interest rate.
Chances are if you are using a credit card to pay for orthodontic treatment, you may have a family budget. There are tons of great resources online that can help you be more successful at reaching your financial goals. Also, take a look at these free budget calculators that help you compare potential income to expense increases.
Remember, there is 0% interest and 0 penalties for any of these payment methods if the monthly payments are made on time.
